North Ranch Country Club has immediate openings for Part-Time Lifeguards for our Athletic Center outdoor pools.
Reports to: Assistant General Manager
Classification: Part-Time, Seasonal, Non-Exempt
Shifts:
May - June:
Weekends Only
11:00 am to 7:30 pm
Mid-June - End of August
Tuesday - Sunday
11:00 am 6:00 pm and 12:30 pm 8:30 pm
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The primary responsibility of a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Lifeguards must be able to ensure the safety of members and guests by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Actively guard and continuously scan the pool area; refrain from socializing while guarding.
- Administer First Aid, CPR, and AED when necessary.
- Assist swimmers in distress.
- Communicate and enforce all pool policies and rules personably and professionally.
- Provide a welcoming environment for all patrons.
- Offer comprehensive poolside assistance including helping members with umbrellas, and ensuring cleanliness and organization by managing pool amenities.
- Document any incidents and/or injuries.
- Maintain a clean and tidy environment around the pool to eliminate hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Knowledge of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques.
- Understanding of rigid safety regulations to ensure maximum protection of swimmers.
- Familiarity with pool equipment and its proper use.
- Awareness of emergency protocols and procedures.
- Ability to remain attentive and alert for extended periods.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with patrons professionally.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Commitment to providing a welcoming and safe environment.
- Reliability and willingness to work weekends and holidays.
- Physical capability to perform lifesaving and rescue tasks.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
- Experience as a pool lifeguard preferred.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a current nationally recognized lifeguard certification.
- Must have basic First Aid and CPR certification obtained by hire date.
Salary : $20 - $21
