Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
- Support clinical procedures by preparing sterile fields, assisting during minor surgeries, and managing medical supplies.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information, treatment plans, and procedural notes.
- Administer medications or injections under supervision while adhering to safety protocols and medication administration guidelines.
- Conduct basic diagnostic tasks such as X-ray imaging or assisting with ultrasound procedures when necessary.
- Ensure all clinical areas are maintained in a clean, organized state following infection control standards.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and facilitating smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and hospital medicine to support inpatient and outpatient care needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or surgical centers; hospital or clinic experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and basic life support (BLS).
- Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation and efficient workflow management.
- Ability to perform intake assessments, measure vital signs accurately, and assist with medication administration.
- Experience supporting dermatology & aesthetic procedures or surgical interventions is highly desirable.
