General Duties:
The principal is the administrative leader of the school, and as such assumes full responsibility for all aspects of the school program. The principal will use necessary leadership, supervisory and administrative skills so as to promote the educational development of each student to their fullest potential. Use of independent judgment and decision-making is required in matters not having established rules, regulations or policies. The principal is responsible directly to the Executive Director of Schools.
Essential Requirements:
- Master’s Degree with additional specialization in educational administration
- Appropriate State of Oregon Certification for the position
- A minimum of five years teaching experience at the elementary level
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
for the specific school assignment - Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school
personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English, Spanish, or other
languages related to the job - Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District
patrons - Ability to work harmoniously with others
- Background in using relevant data (academic, behavioral, attendance) to inform decisions and improve outcomes for instruction and interventions
- Excellent knowledge and experience with special education and serving diverse learners
- Recent and relevant elementary experience preferred
- Experience in supporting and serving students and families with varied and diverse backgrounds
- Collaboration experience in working with teams to enhance Professional Learning Community structures to positively impact student social emotional and academic learning
