Job Title: Elementary Literacy Instructional Coach

Position Summary
The Literacy Instructional Coach is a school-based leadership position focused on improving student learning by providing high-quality, research-based professional development for teachers. You aren’t just a "reading teacher"; you are a mentor, a data detective, and a strategist dedicated to closing the achievement gap through the Science of Reading.
Core Responsibilities
- Teacher Mentorship & Coaching: Provide non-evaluative support through the "coaching cycle" (modeling, co-teaching, and observing) to help teachers master literacy instruction.
- Curriculum Leadership: Guide the implementation of the district's core literacy curriculum, ensuring alignment with state standards and evidence-based practices.
- Data Analysis: Lead Data Team meetings to help teachers interpret benchmark assessments (e.g., DIBELS, NWEA Map) and group students for differentiated instruction.
- Professional Development: Design and facilitate workshops or "Lunch and Learns" on topics like phonemic awareness, morphology, and fluency strategies.
- Intervention Support: Collaborate with the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) team to identify students in need of Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Literacy, Reading, or Curriculum & Instruction preferred.

Valid Colorado Teaching License with a Reading Endorsement or Specialist certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience, in grades K–5 preferably.

Deep understanding of the Science of Reading.

Exceptional active listening, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution skills.
