Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) who is post-certified to join our police department. Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas to deter and detect criminal activity, ensuring community safety.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, incidents, and reports of suspicious activity.
- Conduct thorough criminal investigations, including evidence collection, report writing, and case documentation.
- Enforce traffic laws through traffic stops, citations, and accident investigations while maintaining safe driving practices.
- Execute arrest procedures following legal protocols and use-of-force policies when necessary.
- Perform surveillance operations to monitor suspicious behavior or criminal activity discreetly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records through detailed report writing and documentation of daily activities, incidents, and investigations.
- Apply knowledge of procedural law, criminal law, search and seizure law, evidence law, and local ordinances during enforcement activities.
- Provide first aid or CPR when required to assist injured individuals or during emergencies.
- Engage in conflict management and de-escalation techniques to resolve situations peacefully.
- Handle animals appropriately when encountered during patrols or investigations, ensuring safety for all parties involved.
Requirements
- Current POST (Peace Officer Standards & Training) certification as a Police Officer.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; proficient in standard passenger car operation and driving skills.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, criminal law, procedural law, evidence law, animal handling, immigration law, loss prevention, security protocols, and local ordinances.
- Experience in law enforcement activities such as criminal investigation, arrest procedures, search and seizure law, use of force training, conflict management, report writing, and firearms handling in law enforcement contexts.
- Physical conditioning sufficient to meet the demands of patrol duties including running, lifting, and endurance activities.
- Certifications or training in first aid protocols (including CPR), surveillance techniques, firearms handling in law enforcement settings, and procedural law are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team under pressure.
- Prior military experience or related security experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
