Pastry Chef

Position Type: Full-time - Hourly

Pay: $24/hour and benefits

Duties and responsibilities:

• Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs
• Prepare a variety of baked goods
• Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
• Monitor and order ingredients, supplies, and equipment
• Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions
• Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
• Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends
• Assist with banquet line execution
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pastry program
• Assumes responsibility for the quality, food safety/sanitation and timeliness of products served
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the management staff

• Previous experience working as a Pastry Chef for 2 years
• Culinary school diploma (not crucial)
• Basic knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Familiar with industries best practices
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to work clean and organized
• Ability to move and lift up to 25-50lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
