Grounds Maintenance Worker

The North Mississippi State Hospital is searching for a Grounds Maintenance Worker/Patient Transporter for the Tupelo, Mississippi location in Lee County, requiring some local driving. This is a Contract Position. The Grounds Maintenance Worker/Patient Transport will be responsible for grounds keeping, plumbing, carpentry, electrical repairs to buildings, and transport patients to and from various appointments. The incumbent will support the mission of NMSH to provide the highest quality acute psychiatric care for Northeast Mississippi adults in the process of recovery.

Essential Functions:

This is skilled work in maintenance and repair of building, facilities, and equipment along with grounds keeping in a state agency. Incumbents' work is overseen by a Maintenance Director. Responsible for maintenance and repair activities of the agency and the overall grounds work.

• Performs skilled tasks such as carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, and other general maintenance and repair.
• Repairs, Maintains, and Installs tiles for the upkeep of the facility while performing other physical labor activities.
• Receives Work Orders, prioritizes work to be completed, and keeps maintenance records.
• The Maintenance Grounds Worker may also transport patients to and from appointments.
• Salary: $15.00 per hour

Experience/Educational Requirements:

Experience:
One (1) year of experience directly related to the above described duties which must have included preventative maintenance and repair tasks.

AND

Education:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma);

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
