**Distribution and Transportation:** * Accurately and efficiently transports lab-related supplies, equipment, specimens, reports, and x-ray films to and from laboratory outreach clients * Responsible for maintenance and appearance of assigned vehicle * Abides all laws and regulations while driving assigned vehicle **Specimen Handling & Processing:** * Matches received specimen to requisition and verifies required information * Safely packs, stores, and transports specimen in compliance with regulatory guidelines * Processes specimen and applies barcode labels prior to delivery to core lab for testing * Will work closely with clients to ensure compliance with Outreach policies and procedures **Communication:** * Accurately and efficiently address/respond to inquiries concerning pickup and transportation of specimens and laboratory supplies **Customer Service** * Answer telephone in an polite and efficient manner * Provide a high level of customer service * Perform courier services in a manner to provide a high level of quality to our customers **Employee Relations:** * Works as part of a team with all Pathology and NMHS employees **Education:** * Participates in continuing education programs to maintain and expand skills * Stay abreast of regulatory changes **Regulation**: * Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines * Complies with appropriate Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues Job Knowledge: * High School Diploma or equivalent, required; * Valid Mississippi Drivers License and acceptable driving record/history; required * 1 year laboratory experience; preferred * Good organizational and communication skills; required * General knowledge of Laboratory Information System; required * Knowledge of and appropriate handling and transportation of biohazardous specimens; required
