What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreational Therapist position at North Mississippi Health Services?
Clinical
- Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for all patients referred to Recreational Therapy
- Performs leisure counseling and skill building
- Remain competent in:
- Attends and provides continuing education inservices
- Works variable hours and shares responsibility for weekend coverage of recreation/activity programs.
- Remains within monthly budget when planning recreational activities
- Must be competent in use of computer for documentation purposes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required
- Certified as Therapeutic Recreation Specialist required
- CPR certification required
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to work with/treat adult and geriatric patients.
