What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist position at North Mississippi Health Services?
Provide high quality diagnostic exams and deliver therapeutic isotopes under direct physician supervision and to assure and assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment of disease states.
To assure accurate patient injection of radioactive isotopes to acquire quality exams and to also perform daily quality control checks on all Nuclear Medicine equipment.
To assure compliance with all State and Federal agencies and to maintain accurate radioactive receipt, dosage and disposal records and to assure exam in-processing.
Assists and Physicians during procedures as requested/required
Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner
Communicate effectively with patients, family members, Physicians and other NMMC staff members
Attends required in-services, annual review and educational programs
Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Nuclear Medicine examinations
Stay abreast of changes in Radiology / Nuclear Medicine
Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Graduation from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technologist program.
Registered by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification board (CNMT) or registration from the ARRT (RT)(N).
Licensed by the State of Mississippi (MRT)
American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification; required
Good written and verbal communication; required
Interaction with a patient population of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics; required
Serves patient population categories of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
