SUBJECT: Associate Principal at North Middle School
It is requested that the following information be brought to the attention of all teaching and administrative personnel in the Brockton Public Schools. Pending funding, the School Department is advertising the position of Associate Principal at North Middle School.
Qualifications:
1.Principal/Assistant Principal 6-8 license.
2.Five or more years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
3.Strong background in middle school education, middle school initiatives and philosophy, and curriculum and instruction
preferred.
4.Experience in change process, turnaround strategies, and redesign initiatives, special education, and second language learners
preferred.
5.Supervision and evaluation experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Share responsibility with other school and district leaders in the supervision and evaluation of classroom teachers.
2.Work collaboratively with the Special Education and Bilingual Departments to meet the needs of all students on IEPs
(Individualized Education Plans) and 504s, as well as our multilingual learners and their families.
3.Work collaboratively with district and school leadership teams to monitor student work and analyze assessment data in order to
plan and facilitate professional learning that supports effective instruction and increases student proficiency.
4.Support the curriculum leaders in their work with teachers to ensure standards-aligned, grade level appropriate instruction is
aligned to high quality instructional materials across all classrooms.
5.Assume the role of Testing Coordinator for STAR, ACCESS, and MCAS testing across the school as directed by the building
principal.
6.Provide leadership in district and school-based initiatives: redesign efforts, school improvement planning, professional learning
communities, curriculum and instruction, budget, needs assessments, implementing goals, improvement of student performance,
professional development, mentoring, data analysis and state assessments.
7.Support the scheduling process across the school as directed by the building principal.
8.Collaborate with the building principal and curriculum coordinators in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of staff.
9.Attend any and all meetings assigned by the Superintendent.
10.Take the place of the principal in his/her absence.
11.Perform all duties as assigned by the building Principal, Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent of
Teaching and Learning 6-12.
Compensation: 1.30 ratio for the school year plus four weeks (11 months)
Reports to: Building Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Teaching 6-12, and the Deputy Superintendent.
