North Memorial Ambulatory Surgery Center at Maple Grove is a physician-owned state-of-the-art multi-specialty outpatient surgery center. Our facility is equipped for a variety of surgical specialties such as: Breast, Colon & Rectal, Ear, Nose & Throat, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Spine, and Urology. We are seeking an RN OR Circulator to join our team! You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of assigned patients. We are a same day surgery center, so hours are Monday-Friday days; no nights, calls, or weekends!
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the nursing care and safety needs of a patient in an operating room.
- Supervises and directs patient care in an individual operating room.
- Assesses patient needs, develops individual plan of care, and identities outcomes.
- Ensures that appropriate techniques and practices are used according to accepted standards of practice.
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of special needs for various age groups including infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients when providing care in the surgical suite.
- Assists surgeon(s), anesthesia personnel and other O.R. staff as needed to ensure good patient care.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of infection control practices and sterile technique.
- Maintain accurate patient medical records.
- Manage the care of patients receiving sedation or analgesic medications while undergoing invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Medication administration, patient monitoring, discharge instructions, family teaching and patient safety concerns are all nursing care critical elements of patients undergoing moderate sedation.
- Takes the initiative to participate in continuing education and/or in-services to build and expand scope of practice.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an NLN accredited school of registered nursing. BSN preferred.
- Licensure: Current licensure as an RN in the State of Minnesota
- Experience: Two years of OR Circulator experience
- Certifications: Current CPR/ACLS required.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
