Role Description The Director of Water Resources is a full-time, on-site role based in Sonoma, CA. This position oversees planning, development, and management of the District’s water supply, including forecasting demand, evaluating water sources, and coordinating water conservation and reuse programs. The director leads water resources projects, manages regulatory compliance, and collaborates with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure long-term reliability and sustainability of the water system. Daily responsibilities include supervising staff, preparing reports and presentations for leadership and the Board, managing budgets, and engaging with regulatory agencies, partner organizations, and community stakeholders. The role also involves monitoring emerging water resource issues, assessing risks, and recommending strategic initiatives to align water resource planning with the District’s goals.
