The Donations Processor is responsible for sorting and preparing donated items for sale, ensuring a steady flow of quality merchandise to the sales floor. This role ensures items meet store standards before being placed on the floor while maintaining organized, streamlined processing operations. By ensuring donated goods are handled with care and efficiency, the Donations Processor plays a direct role in turning community generosity into meaningful impact.

Job Purpose
The Donations Processor is responsible for sorting and preparing donated items for sale, ensuring a steady flow of quality merchandise to the sales floor. This role ensures items meet store standards before being placed on the floor while maintaining organized, streamlined processing operations. By ensuring donated goods are handled with care and efficiency, the Donations Processor plays a direct role in turning community generosity into meaningful impact.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate items for quality, cleanliness, and resale value.
- Separate items that should be sold, recycled, discarded, or redirected according to store guidelines.
- Prepare accepted items for the next stage of processing, including tagging, bagging, boxing, or moving items to the appropriate department.
- Maintain production pace to meet daily and weekly output goals.
- Tag, hang, and prepare items for display on the sales floor.
- Ensure merchandise meets store standards before being placed on the floor.
- Rotate inventory and prioritize seasonal and highdemand items.
- Price merchandise accurately and consistently according to store pricing guidelines.
- Keep processing and merchandising areas clean, organized, and efficient.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a steady flow of product from intake to sales floor.
- Identify highvalue or unique items and communicate with supervisors as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to donors, shoppers, volunteers, and team members.
- Assist with floor replenishment and display as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and proper handling guidelines.
- Support overall store operations and assist with additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Selfstarter with ability to work independently
- Previous retail, merchandising, or thrift store experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make consistent sorting decisions.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced, productiondriven environment.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time.
- Lift and carry up to 4050 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motions (tagging, hanging, sorting).
- Ability to work in a warehouse or backroom environment with varying temperatures and exposure to common allergens, including dust, pet hair, and fragrances.
