Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. This position plays a key role in guiding customers through the project process, from the initial contact and prequalification stage through estimating, project planning, and construction completion.
The ideal candidate is organized, professional, comfortable communicating with customers, and able to manage multiple projects at different stages. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to take accurate field measurements, create project drawings, prepare clear estimates, and coordinate with construction crews to help ensure each project is completed successfully.
This position offers a base salary of $3,000 per month plus commissions on sales.
Duties
Contact new and existing customers to discuss project needs, answer initial questions, and schedule appointments.
Prequalify customers by gathering project details, budget expectations, timelines, and other important information before moving forward with estimates.
Travel to jobsites to take accurate measurements, evaluate site conditions, and gather the information needed to prepare a complete estimate.
Draw up proposed projects based on measurements, customer needs, and company standards.
Prepare accurate and professional estimates that include labor, materials, project scope, and any other relevant project details.
Present and deliver estimates to customers, explain the scope of work, answer questions, and follow up as needed.
Communicate with customers throughout the sales and project process to ensure a positive experience.
Coordinate with construction crews before and during the building process to help ensure the project is completed according to the estimate, drawings, and customer expectations.
Monitor project progress, help resolve issues that arise, and communicate updates between customers, crews, and company leadership.
Maintain organized project documentation, including measurements, drawings, estimates, customer communication, change requests, and project notes.
Support the company’s commitment to quality workmanship, clear communication, and excellent customer service.
Experience
Experience in construction, estimating, project management, sales, or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of decks, remodeling, framing, exterior construction, or residential construction is highly beneficial.
Ability to read measurements, understand construction details, and translate customer ideas into clear project plans.
Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust and explain project details clearly.
Comfortable visiting jobsites, taking accurate measurements, and identifying potential project challenges.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple leads, estimates, and active projects at the same time.
Basic computer skills required; experience with estimating software, drawing software, CRM systems, or similar tools is a plus.
Must be dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to follow through from first customer contact to project completion.
Sales experience is helpful, especially in a commission-based role.
Compensation
This position pays a $3,000 per month base salary plus commissions on sales. Commission details will be discussed during the interview process.
Schedule
Full-time position. Schedule may vary depending on customer appointments, jobsite visits, and project needs.
Work Location
In person, with regular travel to customer jobsites.
