What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Estimator position at North Hollywood Toyota?
It is expected that your total compensation will increase through commissions and other performance incentives to exceed the amount of Base Hourly Wages and any advances against anticipated earnings. This is a based commission of the payable sales gross, as reflected on the Company's and Reynolds 6213 report, which is generated by and available through the Business Office or Body Shop Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Inspects damage vehicles and create detailed repair cost estimates
- Identifies hidden during teardown and update estimates accordingly
- Creates detailed repair estimates using dealership-approved estimating software
- Follows OEM repair procedures, labor times, and dealership standards
- Ensures estimates are accurate, complete and profitable for the dealer
- Communicates and negotiates directly with insurance adjusters regarding claims, supplements, and approvals
- Negotiates and coordinates repair planning with technicians while protecting OEM and dealership repair standards
- Submits photos, documentation, and supplements as required
- Explains repair processes, timelines, and costs clearly to customers
- Acts as the main point of contact for customers throughout the repair process
- Provides updates and handle customer concerns professionally and promptly
- Ensures repairs meets OEM Certification requirements and dealership polices
- Verifies completed repairs before vehicle delivery
- Maintains accurate records for warranty, insurance, and audit purposes
- Responsible for orders parts as needed and maintain inventory
- Professionally administer all incoming calls
- Greet and direct guests in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner
- Strong knowledge and understanding of parts pricing, labor rates, and paint materials
- Responsible for maintaining all customer’s personal information protected and confidential information
- Must have ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume dealership environment
- Data entry to prepare and maintain records as necessary
- Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed
- Assists with other sales and service duties as instructed by manager or as necessary
- Assists with greeting sales and service customers as needed
- Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution
- Keeps work area neat and clean
- Other duties as assigned
Required skills and qualifications:
- Ability to understand, and execute written and verbal instructions
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
- Must be able to work weekends and/or evenings
- Excellent phone etiquette
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Professional appearance
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under Garage Liability policy (Not an excluded driver)
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check
- Minimum 2-3 years of body shop experience
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong oral and written communication
- Strong integrity
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
