SERVER
Position Summary
The Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to hotel guests and restaurant patrons. This position delivers a warm, professional, and attentive guest experience while accurately taking orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining a clean dining environment, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
Essential Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
- Present menus, explain food and beverage selections, and make recommendations when appropriate.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Communicate special requests, allergies, and dietary restrictions clearly to the kitchen and management team.
- Serve food and beverages according to established service standards.
- Maintain proper table presentation, including silverware, glassware, napkins, and condiments.
- Monitor guest needs throughout the dining experience and provide prompt, attentive service.
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address concerns professionally.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, daily specials, and beverage offerings.
- Properly handle guest checks, payments, credit cards, and cash.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned tables, service stations, and dining areas.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, side work, and restaurant setup.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, hosts, management, and other service staff.
- Follow all hotel, restaurant, sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol-service policies.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.
- Promote additional food and beverage selections when appropriate.
- Assist other team members as needed to maintain efficient and consistent service.
- Uphold the hotel's standards for hospitality, professionalism, appearance, and guest service.
Qualifications
- Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry food and beverage trays safely.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
