What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Precision Machining Teacher position at North Gibson School Corporation?
SUMMARY:
The Precision Machining teacher will instruct student for up to 4 years of career and technical education, precision machining courses. The instructor will work collaboratively with Vincennes University to offer a dual credit program, preparing students for a successful college entrance into a precision machining program and/or entrance into a precision machining career.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding.
- Monitor, supervise, coordinate and enforce rule of conduct and behavior for assigned students, and reinforce positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.
- Observes, evaluates, reports and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems.
- Prepare educational course outlines, objectives and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
- Present subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning style.
- Enhance youth leadership through CTE experiences such as the Skills USA competitions.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Have the ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Provide effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Have the ability to manage classroom and coordinate and instruct student activities.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Option 1: Hold a bachelor's degree and/or teaching license in CTE: Precision Machining.
Option 2: Eligibility for the Workplace Specialist I License
Workplace Specialist I: Initial (Two-year license)
- Minimum requirement: High School Diploma. A first applicant must send in a photocopy.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
- Employment in an accredited educational program to teach in a specific vocational area.
- Occupational experience** (Select one):
- 5,000 hours (about 2.5 years of experience) in the last five (5) years.
- 4,000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and demonstration of occupational competency test.
- 4,000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and evidence of occupational licensure or occupational proficiency based on approved regional, state, or national board training and evaluation.
- 4,000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and completion of an accredited 2-year or higher degree in the specific certification area
- 4,000 hours (about 2 years) in the past ten (10) years and completion of an apprenticeship or internship program.
