Job Overview

Join our dynamic clinical team as a Speech-Language Pathologist/Clinical Fellow, where you will play a vital role in supporting children's communication development and enhancing their life experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with children in a clinical setting, providing comprehensive speech and language therapy as well as swallowing services. SLP's and Clinical Fellows will gain invaluable hands-on experience while collaborating with families, and healthcare professionals to foster meaningful progress. Your expertise will help children overcome communication challenges, improve social interactions, and succeed at home and in the community.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children's speech, language, voice, fluency, and cognitive-communication skills using standardized tools and clinical observations
  • Conduct thorough assessments of children's swallowing abilities using standardized tools and clinical observations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs, goals, and abilities
  • Deliver engaging speech therapy sessions in person or via telehealth platforms, utilizing evidence-based techniques and adaptive strategies
  • Collaborate closely with medical professionals and families to implement therapy goals within the clinical environment and at home
  • Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Monitor child progress regularly and adjust therapy approaches accordingly to maximize outcomes
  • Participate in team meetings to coordinate care and share insights on child development

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in clinical settings is highly preferred
  • Experience providing speech therapy services for pediatric populations with diverse disabilities, swallowing or communication needs
  • Familiarity with early intervention practices and strategies for supporting young children’s speech and language development
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech production and swallowing functions
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities across various age groups through age 21, including children in related settings
  • Proficiency in patient assessment techniques, medical terminology, and understanding of physiology principles relevant to speech-language pathology
  • Telehealth therapy experience is a plus, demonstrating adaptability to remote service delivery models
  • Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
