Duties
- Assist with the installation of various flooring types including epoxy, vinyl, hardwood, tile, and carpet according to project specifications and schematics
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary primers or underlayments to ensure optimal adhesion
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install flooring materials with precision
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to execute projects accurately
- Handle building materials manually and with equipment, following safety protocols for construction site safety compliance
- Support floor refinishing tasks such as buffing, sanding, and applying sealants or finishes to restore or enhance flooring surfaces
- Assist in water damage restoration efforts by removing damaged flooring and preparing areas for new installation or repairs
Skills
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting schematics for flooring projects
- Skilled in epoxy floor installation, tile laying, hardwood floor installation, vinyl floor installation, and carpet installation
- Proficient with hand tools (e.g., saws, chisels), power tools (e.g., drills, sanders), and caulking equipment for precise work
- Knowledge of building material installation techniques including trim carpentry, fixture installation, and cabinetry setup
- Familiarity with water damage restoration processes and floor care maintenance practices
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely over extended periods while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of construction site experience including safety procedures and blueprint interpretation
