What are the responsibilities and job description for the Joint Use Technician position at North Georgia EMC?
Title: Joint Use Technician
Reports to: Director, Analytics and Joint Use
Department: Information Systems
Purpose: To ensure that NGEMC’s joint use agreements are effectively managed. This includes adherence to the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) and other related joint use topics.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate/equivalent with business related course work.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the operation and engineering sections Joint Use related work. Experience in design, construction and installation telecommunications networks is preferred.
Job Functions:
- Effectively manages the National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) or other Joint Use Notification System.
- Ensure that NJUNS tickets are entered properly and managed timely.
- Provide status reporting of NJUNS tickets to Management.
- Ensure transfer charges are invoiced, and transfer of ownership letters are sent when applicable.
- Perform field audits to verify the correct status of NJUNS tickets.
- Assist Management to ensure joint use contracts are effectively managed.
- Assist Management in development of company standards that apply to joint use.
- Assists other Departments by providing information or working on assigned projects.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

Working Conditions:
Field work and general office environment; requires the flexibility to work irregular hours for assignment completion; requires the ability to work during emergency situations and availability during inclement weather.
