Title: Energy Services Advisor
Reports to: Energy Services Lead
Department: Member Services
Purpose:
To coordinate and facilitate the delivery of energy services to North Georgia EMC customers. To provide a point of contact, particularly for residential and small commercial consumers, but also with builders, contractors, etc., for the provision of energy services. Represent NGEMC with individuals and groups engaged in activities and decisions on the use of energy in homes, businesses, and industries. To educate and inform members and employees as to the energy services programs offered by NGEMC.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in related field of study or at least two years of experience in energy services or the electric power industry.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with a variety of groups and individuals.
- Knowledge of the electrical industry.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Public speaking and facilitation skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- Georgia Licensed electrician with references.
- Bilingual
- Obtain the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) certification.
Job Functions:
- Work with staff to develop, deliver, and maintain continuous energy services programs for residential and commercial customers.
- Assist as directed in organizing and attending meetings with energy services personnel and groups involved in energy decisions, such as HVAC and plumbing contractors, home builders, manufactured home dealers, realtors, architects, and engineers.
- Provide energy services information to individuals and groups involved in energy decisions.
- Assist with development and implementation of employee awareness programs to educate and inform employees as to the energy services offered by NGEMC and encourage employees to actively promote use of available services.
- Participate in community gatherings, schools, and other related events to promote timely electric industry and energy efficiency related information.
- Meet with individual residential and commercial customers to help identify energy services needs.
- Review energy audit results with property owners to help develop a plan to improve overall efficiency.
Maintain current knowledge of HVAC industry requirements.
Respond to increases in energy usage and troubleshoot potential causes to provide members with information and support.- Complete daily work orders via mobile technology for timely completion and imaging.
- Ensure timely follow-up on commitments to provide energy services to customers and others.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move safely around customer facilities including climbing ladders and stairs and bending and crawling. Maintain a body weight of less than 250 pounds to safely climb a ladder while performing job duties.
Working Conditions:
Frequent customer field contact involving crawling in tightly enclosed, sometimes dark, spaces such as a crawlspace, attic, garage, or utility room; frequent outside exposure; some general office environment; Require the flexibility to work during emergency situations; require flexibility to work irregular hours for assignment completion. Varied work hours in accordance with assigned schedule.
