Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for pediatric patient care and a strong foundation in speech therapy techniques tailored to children. In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in pediatric patients across various settings, including schools and early intervention programs. Your expertise will contribute to improving communication skills and overall quality of life for young patients.

Position Summary:

Speech language pathologists assess, diagnose, and treat disorders related to: articulation, language, communication (AAC), swallowing, feeding, voice, cognition, and fluency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat patients with disorders related to speech, language, communication, swallowing, feeding, voice, cognition, and fluency.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that outline treatment goals and methods to be used.
  • Provide support, guidance, and education to the child’s families/caregivers.
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals (teachers, therapists, doctors).
  • Assess and treat children 0-21 years of age in the clinic, daycare, school, home, or virtual setting.
  • Provide screening and make appropriate referrals.
  • Complete daily notes for each session.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Expectations:

  • Complete paperwork and documentation within appropriate time frames.
  • Ensure best therapeutic practices.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships and collaborate with team members, department members, supervisors, staff, parents and outside agencies.
  • Demonstrate reliability in attendance, punctuality, and task completion.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in communication disorders for fully credentialed therapists
  • Current Florida state license
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and auto insurance
  • Professional Liability Insurance (if Independent Contractor)
  • Medicaid Number preferred, but not required

Work Environment:

  • Services may be provided in clinics, and/or school settings
  • May involve physical activity and behavioral interventions requiring quick response and safety awareness.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and move quickly to keep pace with clients during sessions.
  • Ability to lift or physically support clients as necessary.
  • Ability to implement crisis intervention techniques as trained.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
