Position Summary:

The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs to help patients restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. Working independently and in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals, the Physical Therapist promotes optimal physical performance and quality of life through evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients to determine functional abilities and rehabilitation needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable goals.
  • Use therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, modalities, and education to improve movement, strength, balance, and coordination.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and state licensure laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Expectations:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations to determine patient needs, goals, and functional limitations.
  • Use therapeutic exercise, manual techniques, and modalities to improve strength, balance, mobility, and endurance.
  • Continuously assess and document patient progress, adjusting interventions as needed for optimal outcomes.
  • Coordinate care and share progress updates with physicians, nurses, and other therapy providers.
  • Provide clear documentation that meets all professional, legal, and organizational standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning as required.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Maintain equipment and treatment areas in clean, safe working order.
  • Report hazards, incidents, or changes in patient condition promptly.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and enhance clinical expertise.
  • Stay current on advances in physical therapy techniques, technology, and research.
  • Serve as a mentor or resource to students, assistants, or new staff when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate reliability in attendance, punctuality, and task completion.

Qualifications:

  • Valid FL Physical Therapist license
  • Proven work experience as a physical therapist
  • Intensive education and clinical expertise
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices

Work Environment:

  • Services may be provided in clinics, and/or school settings
  • May involve physical activity and behavioral interventions requiring quick response and safety awareness.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and move quickly to keep pace with clients during sessions.
  • Ability to lift or physically support clients as necessary.
  • Ability to implement crisis intervention techniques as trained.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
