Job Title: Retail Sales Associate - Liquor Store
Job Overview:
We are a family-owned liquor store seeking a dedicated and reliable Retail Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate responsibility, integrity, and a strong work ethic while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves managing inventory, utilizing a POS system, and performing physical tasks to maintain the store's cleanliness and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection, answering questions, and creating a welcoming shopping experience.
- Learn and efficiently operate the store’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Manage and organize inventory, including receiving shipments, restocking shelves, and conducting regular stock checks.
- Lift and handle heavy wine, beer, and liquor cases (up to 50 lbs) safely.
- Perform cleaning tasks, including taking out trash and maintaining a tidy and presentable store environment.
- Stay informed about beer, wine, and spirits to assist customers with knowledgeable recommendations.
- Use computers and web-based tools for inventory management and online sales or promotions.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment with accuracy and integrity.
Qualifications:
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge or interest in beer, wine, and spirits is a plus.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong physical stamina to handle lifting, stocking, and cleaning tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused demeanor.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
