What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manual Machinist position at NORTH END ELECTRIC SERVICE?
North End Electric is a longtime standing electric motor repair shop specializing in motor re-winds, rebuilding, machine work, and field service installation. We are looking for a experienced and skilled machinist that can join our team.
Duties:
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate metal parts
- Use power tools and hand tools to perform machining operations
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers and coordinate measuring machines
- Assemble components using various fastening methods such as welding or bolting
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a manual machinist or in a similar role required
- Proficiency in operating manual machines such as lathes, drill press, mills, and grinders
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of tooling selection and usage for different machining operations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate workpieces within specified tolerances
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers and coordinate measuring machines

Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour
