What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Education Manager position at North East Medical Services?
The Health Education Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of health education programs and services. S/he will also represent NEMS in community education/ outreach activities and counseling patients in a variety of settings.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of the bilingual health education programs and activities on preventative health care, chronic disease management, Western medicine, and other related topics
- Develops, implements, and evaluates patient education programs by conducting needs assessments; consulting with physicians, evaluating departmental and administrative requests to understand patient education requirements
- Oversees the development of curricula, toolkits, health education programs and materials
- Oversees the development of bilingual educational materials on relevant health topics and reviews translation for accuracy and appropriateness
- Develops outreach strategy and plans
- Creates annual goals and objectives of all health education programs
- Collaborates with other departments to develop grant applications and program proposals to obtain funding sources
- Monitors service quality and programs effectiveness to ensure compliance with funding requirements
- Travels to NEMS’ clinic sites to conduct health education programs and events
- Direct supervision of a workgroup involving responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and personnel. Responsible for carrying out supervisory/managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring of employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in community health education, health communication or related field
- Completion of a four degree from an accredited university, Master’s degree highly preferred
- CHES certification highly preferred
- Experienced with interfacing community partners to create health education programs
- Prior experience in program planning, design and implementation that incorporates evidence-based strategies and cultural competency
LANGUAGE:
- Fluent in English: reading, writing, speaking) required
- Fluent in Chinese: (Cantonese/Mandarin) reading, writing, speaking required

This is an FLSA exempt position.

Salary : $88,998 - $101,400
