Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Mayville State University, Mayville, ND
Compensation: Hiring Range: $39,975 - $47,971 and will commensurate with level of experience

Position Information:
Mayville State University is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to help create and maintain a safe, clean, and well-kept campus environment that supports learning for a lifetime. This hands-on role involves a wide range of responsibilities—from groundskeeping and snow removal to electrical repairs and building maintenance.
Key Competencies:
Grounds & Landscaping
- Mow grass and trim around buildings and trees
- Remove dead trees, branches, weeds, and litter
- Perform minor landscaping and assist with spring planting
Snow & Ice Management
- Operate Bobcat, snow blower, and truck with Boss blade during snow events
- Keep sidewalks and parking lots clear
- Apply deicer and rock for safety
Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance
- Install and repair fixtures and receptacles
- Repair small machines/appliances (vacuums, drills, lamps, fans)
- Pull wire, make connections, and replace ballasts
- Use OHM meters and power tools safely and effectively
Building & Structural Work
- Repair wood structures and patch walls
- Paint and stain surfaces
- Remodel or construct small rooms/buildings
- Mix and apply cement for minor repairs
General Maintenance
- Complete work orders and perform repairs as needed
- Rotate and maintain State Fleet Vehicles
- Perform oil changes and grease maintenance equipment
- Repair lawnmower and other groundskeeping equipment
- Transport loads to city dump
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of building and grounds maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and service excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree in related field
