NDDOT Starting Salary: $8,000 / month
This position offers a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site a few days each week and attend in-person meetings as needed.
The Senior HR Advisor in our Human Resource Division leads departmental activities in labor and employee relations, FMLA, and ADA. This position provides expert consultation and regular coaching conversations with managers and employees to strengthen workplace culture, resolve concerns, and support effective performance and engagement.
Duties will include:
Proactively lead labor and employee relations efforts by identifying emerging issues, trends, and opportunities for early intervention.
Partner with managers and supervisors to coach them through concerns, helping clarify expectations, explore root causes, and design intervention strategies like coaching plans and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
Prepare detailed reports on grievances, complaints, investigations, and other employee relations matters to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational values.
Educate employees and administer requests for Family Medical Leave Act and ADA and Workplace Accommodations.
Serve as the Gallup portal super user, providing expertise on system functionality, reporting tools, and effective use of engagement resources.
Manage performance reviews, advise managers on evaluations, and support leadership in employee development.
Assist managers with remote or hybrid work arrangements and requests and maintain accurate records.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Experience in employee relations, leave administration, or similar HR functions.
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, wage and hour, etc.).
Strong communication, problem solving, and documentation skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
