The North Dakota Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our Human Resource team and gain hands-on experience in Talent Acquisition.
This is more than a traditional internship. You'll work alongside experienced HR professionals who support agencies across North Dakota, helping connect talented individuals with meaningful careers in public service. From recruitment marketing and sourcing strategies to compliance and talent programs, you'll gain exposure to the talent acquisition lifecycle while contributing to projects that have a statewide impact.

Summary of Work
As a Human Resources Intern, you will:
- Support recruitment coordination and candidate communication
- Support internship funding administration
- Help coordinate talent acquisition projects and HR initiatives
- Research recruitment channels and advertising opportunities
- Review job postings for compliance and consistency
- Help maintain and update hiring manager resources and recruitment materials
- Support Talent Acquisition Community of Practice meetings and initiatives
- Help coordinate Intern Day at the Capitol and other talent-focused events
- Organize and maintain recruitment records, resources, and documentation
- Collaborate with HR professionals across HR teams
- Help create a positive experience for applicants and team members

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Be pursuing a degree aligned with Human Resources, Business, Communications, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, or a related field
- Be enrolled as a full-time student at sophomore status or above
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
Individuals who are successful in this role are often collaborative, curious, adaptable, organized, and interested in learning how Human Resources supports employees and organizations.
Training, mentorship, and support will be provided throughout the internship experience.

Compensation & Location
- Work Style: Hybrid work arrangement based in Bismarck at the North Dakota State Capitol Complex
- Hours per Week: Approximately 15–20 hours per week with flexibility to accommodate class schedules
- Internship Duration: Estimated 6–9 months depending on student availability and business needs
- Starting Hiring Rate: $18.00/hour
