The North Dakota Long Term Care Association is looking for a part-time Director of Emergency Planning. The Director is funded through the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) and will implement Healthcare Preparedness Program grant requirements. This position acts as a communication liaison for North Dakota Long Term Care Association’s member facilities, the North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services Health Response and Licensure Section, and the Emergency Preparedness (EPR) unit.
Essential Functions
- Assist facilities with developing, reviewing, and revising all-hazards emergency operations plans.
- Provide the most up to date and concise information on changing policies and procedures as provided from: CDC, CMS, OSHA, AHCA/NCAL, ASPR Tracie, ND HHS and other appropriate entities.
- Research emergency preparedness policies and procedures for long term care.
- Assist with direction for long term care administrators during emergencies as directed by the Department Operations Center (DOC).
- Participate in EPR exercises, drills and training opportunities.
- Secure emergency preparedness/life safety speakers for conventions and bootcamp. Help coordinate speakers on arrival and assist with other day-of-event tasks.
- Update NDLTCA website with pertinent planning and training information
- Participate on EPR applicable committees and coalitions.
- Maintain a current and updated list of emergency preparedness contacts in facilities for ReadyOp mass communication system.
- Visit member facilities.
- Assist in providing information, resources and training programs for workforce; recruitment and retainment.
Job Qualifications and Abilities
- ·Experience and knowledge of the long term care profession and/or emergency planning is preferred but not required.
- ·Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) courses 100, 200, 700 and 800 within one year of hire date.
- Self-motivated, enjoy working independently as well as a team member.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking to large groups and also via electronic media.
- Ability to work with various software programs.
Wage and Schedule
- $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include a 401(k) and a monthly health insurance stipend.
- Flexible, part-time schedule totaling 20 - 30 hours/week, dependent on workload.
- Remote work available after training, with self-scheduled in-office time and periodic travel within North Dakota and 1-3 conferences within the U.S.
