Position Summary
The Day Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on support, supervision, and skill-building opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities in a structured day program setting. The Day Hab DSP helps participants engage in community activities, develop independent living skills, and achieve personal goals. All while promoting dignity, inclusion, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
· Support individuals in daily activities that promote independence, socialization, and personal growth.
· Implement person-centered support plans and document progress accurately.
· Assist with daily living skills such as meal prep, personal hygiene (as needed), and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
· Facilitate community outings, volunteer activities, and recreational experiences.
· Encourage and model appropriate social behavior, communication, and coping skills.
· Transport participants safely to and from community activities using agency vehicles.
· Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure high-quality care and positive outcomes.
· Maintain confidentiality and uphold NDAC’s mission, values, and policies.
Qualifications
· Must be 18 years of age or older.
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Valid driver’s license with a reliable mode of transportation.
· Ability to pass a background check and required training certifications.
· Compassionate, patient, and dependable with strong communication skills.
· Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred, but not required (training provided).
Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
**Expected Start Date in January 2026**
