Activities Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team at North Dade Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Miami, Florida. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing activities that promote socialization, engagement, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, and outings, to promote socialization and cognitive stimulation among residents
- Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement programming that meets the diverse needs and interests of residents
- Assist with the coordination of special events, including birthday celebrations, holiday parties, and cultural festivals
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activities
- Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a positive and welcoming environment
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as feeding, toileting, and ambulation, as needed
- Participate in in-service training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
Requirements:
- 0 years of experience in healthcare or a related field
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents as needed
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents and families
