Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Paramedic to provide emergency medical services within the North County EMS 911 System. The Paramedic will be responsible for delivering high-quality pre-hospital care to patients in emergency situations, ensuring their safety and well-being until they can be transported to medical facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, quick decision-making, and effective communication with emergency response teams.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls within the North County EMS 911 System, providing immediate medical attention to patients in diverse settings.
- Assess patient conditions rapidly and accurately, determining appropriate treatment plans based on established protocols.
- Administer advanced life support interventions, including airway management, medication administration, and trauma care.
- Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment and vehicles in accordance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with other emergency responders, healthcare professionals, and dispatch personnel to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and interventions thoroughly and accurately in electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing emergency medical services.
- Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to stay current with EMS best practices and certifications.
Requirements
- Valid Paramedic certification/license recognized by the appropriate regulatory authority.
- Experience working within the North County EMS 911 System or similar emergency response environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, protocols, and equipment operation.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while making quick, informed decisions in high-stress situations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, team members, and other healthcare providers.
- Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks associated with emergency response activities.
