What are the responsibilities and job description for the New Associate Veterinarian Position with a Growing Practice position at North County Animal Hospital?
At North County Animal Hospital, we’ve built something we’re really proud of—a collaborative, supportive environment where high-quality medicine and a healthy work-life balance can truly coexist.
We’re a privately owned, American Animal Hospital Association-accredited small animal practice located in Ridgefield, WA. Since opening in 2012, we’ve grown alongside our community by focusing on teamwork, trust, and creating a workplace where people feel valued and supported.
What your schedule looks like:
Enjoy a consistent 4-day work week with 9.5-hour shifts (including a 30–60 minute lunch break), averaging 38–40 paid hours per week.
We’re open Monday–Friday from 8:00am–5:30pm and are closed on weekends—so you’ll always have built-in time to recharge.
A team designed to support you:
We’ve intentionally built a structure that allows our doctors to focus on medicine while feeling fully supported:
- 3:1 assistant-to-doctor ratio
- 2–3 licensed veterinary technicians (LVTs) on staff daily
- A well-rounded team with extensive veterinary experience across roles
Our leadership team is established, approachable, and committed to fostering growth, inclusivity, and a positive workplace culture. We prioritize open communication—your ideas, perspectives, and values truly matter here.
At the end of the day, we’re real people who care deeply about what we do. We’re here to make a meaningful difference—for our patients, our clients, and our community.
What you’ll get to practice:
Our team provides a broad range of services, allowing you to practice the kind of medicine you’re passionate about. This includes:
- Preventative and wellness care
- Soft tissue surgery
- Dentistry
- Diagnostic imaging (radiology, ultrasound)
- In-house laboratory diagnostics
- Laser therapy
- …and more, with the support and tools you need to do your best work.
Growth and development—right from day one:
We place a strong emphasis on continuing education and professional growth. CE support is available immediately, and we encourage you to share your interests so we can help you pursue them from the start.
Looking ahead:
We’re entering an exciting phase of growth. In fall 2026, we plan to break ground on a brand-new, 7,000 sq. ft. facility designed with both our team and patients in mind. The updated space will feature:
- 6–8 exam rooms
- A dedicated dental suite with two wet tables
- A primary surgical suite plus a separate procedure room
- Spacious treatment areas
- Updated, modern equipment throughout
Our future vision includes growing into a 6-doctor practice, creating even more opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and a balanced workload.
Compensation & benefits:
We offer a well-rounded package designed to support both your career and your personal life:
- ProSal model with expected total compensation ranging from $140,000–$265,000 annually
- Health and dental insurance
- Retirement plan options
- CE allowance and professional development support
- Paid time off
- Employee pet care discounts
Who we’re hoping to find:
We’re looking for a veterinarian who values collaboration, clear communication, and a positive team culture. Whether you’re experienced or early in your career, what matters most is your desire to practice high-quality medicine and be part of a supportive, engaged team.
