Schedule: School-year position | 6.5 hours/dayPay and benefits: $20.35 $23.00/hour (based on experience and education; benefits per Support Staff Negotiated Agreement)Are you passionate about helping young adults find their footing in the "real world"? We are looking for a high-energy, empathetic, and organized paraprofessional with special education experience to support our Life Skills program and General Education elective courses at North Country Union High School. The ideal candidate will also have, or be willing to learn, community-based skills instruction.In this position, you aren't just assisting in a classroom, you are a bridge between school and independence. Working directly with students with diverse disabilities, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support, mentor students throughout the school day, and teach essential life skills alongside our special education team.Daily responsibilities include supporting: Life Skills: Teaching "soft skills" (professionalism, communication, punctuality) and "hard skills" (job-specific tasks) tailored to individual student goals.Academics & Projects: Assisting with core classes, project work, and elective courses.Community-Based Instruction: Helping students apply learning in real-world settings to prepare for meaningful adult lives.Why Join Us?Meaningful Impact: See the direct results of your work as students gain independence and achieve their goals.Supportive Environment: Work alongside a dedicated team of educators, therapists, and specialists who share your mission.QualificationsDistrict Requirement: Minimum of 48 college credits OR a passing score on the ParaPro or Master Teacher assessment test.Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities (specifically autism, intellectual disabilities, or developmental delays) is preferred.
