YEAH! PROGRAM COORDINATOR

North Country Prenatal/Perinatal Council (NCPPC) is seeking a full-time YEAH! Program Coordinator to lead youth development and adolescent health programming throughout Lewis County, with a primary focus on the Lowville community.
The YEAH! (Youth Empowerment and Adolescent Health) Program helps young people build the knowledge, skills, and connections they need to make healthy decisions and reach their full potential.
What You'll Do:
- Facilitate youth development and adolescent health programming in school and community settings, with a primary focus on Lowville Academy
- Coordinate youth engagement opportunities, special events, field trips, and community activities
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local agencies
- Recruit and engage youth participants in program activities
- Assist with outreach, promotion, and community awareness efforts
- Collect program data and maintain required documentation for grant reporting
Topics and Programs May Include:
- Healthy relationships
- Communication and decision-making skills
- Pregnancy prevention and contraception
- HIV and STI prevention
- Mental health and wellness
- LGBTQ inclusion and support
- Community engagement and youth empowerment
Training & Professional Development:
New staff follow a structured onboarding process designed to build confidence and familiarity with program expectations. This includes:
- Observing experienced educators and coordinators
- Becoming familiar with lesson materials and program expectations
- Co-facilitating programming with experienced staff
- Gradually leading activities independently with support and feedback
- Ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities
Most educational programming is delivered using established lesson plans and resources developed for the YEAH! Program. Educators are not expected to create programming from scratch and will receive the materials, training, and support needed to successfully facilitate lessons.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Education, Human Services, or a related field required
- Experience working with youth, schools, or community-based programs preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Ability to meet background check requirements
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Compensation & Benefits:
Starting salary: $41,600 - $45,760 annually ($20.00-$22.00/hour), commensurate with experience
