Position Statement
The Primary Care Scheduler cordially and efficiently receives patient phone calls to ascertain and manage the patient’s needs while maintaining provider’s schedules in an effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answers telephones, takes, and relays accurate messages via electronic health record system, and complies with requests according to established policies and procedures.
- Performs call confirmations for appointments.
- Updates schedules, books appointments, and coordinates appointments with other disciplines as needed.
- Reviews “no shows” and “missed appointments” and notifies patients by phone and/or letter. Calls patients to reschedule any missed appointments.
- Manages patients’ requests for immunizations, and med lists, etc. Inputs non-clinical data at the request of nursing staff and manager.
- Sends outgoing faxes and distributes incoming faxes and mail.
- Assists with patient mailings and prepares outgoing mail. Prepare normal lab and x-ray result letters to patients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma required.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills paired with verbal written and communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively with all staff.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Shows competency in computer skills.
- Understands medical terminology.
- Health care setting experience in a clinic setting is preferred.
Pay Information:
$18.55 - $23.23 hourly
Salary : $19 - $23
