Position Title: Student Advocate Program Manager

Description: The Student Advocate Program Manager supervises Student Advocates across the North Cook region in support of the Student Advocate ALOP program goals. The goal of the Manager is to ensure full caseloads for advocates, be the first point of contact for advocates when questions arise, and to report to the Director of ALOP to help solve issues that arise with the school and/or district. Managers can be organized by level (i.e. high school, middle school, elementary school), by school feeder pattern, or any other way that best supports the program.

Essential Duties

  • In collaboration with the Director of ALOP and school personnel, recruits, hires and onboards Student Advocates.
  • Supervises, evaluates and supports Student Advocates.
  • Works with Student Advocates to organize and manage caseloads.
  • Supports Student Advocates in the development of student success plans, student goal setting, and the collection of appropriate data.
  • Facilitates weekly team meetings and case reviews and assists in program design and development.
  • Schedules, plans, and participates in family outreach visits/home visits as well as family engagement events to promote family participation in the student’s learning experiences.
  • Creates monthly data report for school staff and facilitates data collection for state reporting and program advancement.
  • Monitors program implementation focusing on maintaining program integrity and meeting district needs.
  • In collaboration with the Director of ALOP, facilitates ongoing collaboration with home school staff to help align SA ALOP procedures with existing school policies and practices.
  • Participates in planning and delivery of professional learning and provides daily technical assistance to Student Advocates.
  • Oversees budgets and purchasing of supplies and materials for Student Advocates.
  • Facilitates student and advocate transitions throughout the feeder pattern.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Spanish speaker preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands: In performing the duties of an Student Advocate Manager, the following physical demands are typical:

  • Sedentary Work: The role primarily involves sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods while using a computer, telephone, and other office equipment. However some work will require travel to a home or other location within the North Cook ISC region.
  • Mobility: Occasional walking and standing may be required for tasks such as filing documents, attending meetings, or moving between office areas. Some work may require climbing stairs or navigating to homes or other locations within the North Cook ISC region.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds of office supplies or materials, such as boxes of paper or equipment.
  • Reaching and Grasping: Regular use of hands and arms to handle office supplies, operate a keyboard, and perform various administrative tasks.
  • Visual Acuity: Requires close vision to review documents, prepare reports, and use computer screens.
  • Communication: Frequent use of verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues, clients, and vendors, as well as the ability to hear and understand conversations in a busy office environment.

Work environment: Work is completed in an indoor office environment.

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Friendly and patient demeanor including conflict resolution skills.

Able to travel by vehicle to North Cook ISC area schools.

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
