Maintenance Technician / Facilities Handyman

About the Role
We are seeking a dependable, experienced Maintenance Technician / Handyman to oversee maintenance, repairs, grounds care, and seasonal needs across multiple well-maintained commercial and healthcare-related facilities in Northern Colorado.
This role is ideal for a retired or semi-retired tradesman, former building engineer, or facility maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on work, autonomy, and consistent hours—without heavy emergency call demands or high-pressure environments.
You do not need to be licensed in every trade. Strong general maintenance experience and sound judgment are what matter most.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative facilities maintenance across multiple locations
- Complete basic repairs and troubleshooting in:
- HVAC (filters, thermostats, basic diagnostics)
- Plumbing (fixtures, toilets, sinks, minor leaks)
- Electrical (lighting, outlets, switches, basic troubleshooting)
- Conduct building inspections and proactively address maintenance issues
- Perform light landscaping, property upkeep, and snow removal
- Complete small repair projects and facility upgrades
- Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized work is required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional facility environment
- Communicate clearly regarding completed work and future maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Maintenance Technician, Facilities Engineer, Building Engineer, Handyman, or Tradesperson
- Broad working knowledge of commercial building systems
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors year-round
- Basic proficiency with hand and power tools
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs
Highly Desired (Not Required)
- Retired HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades experience
- Former hospital, clinic, or commercial facility maintenance background
- Trade certifications or vocational training
