What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sample Technician position at North Coast Testing Laboratories?
North Coast Testing Laboratories of Michigan (NCTLM) is a licensed safety compliance facility serving Michigan’s regulated marijuana market. NCTLM analyzes a growing volume of cannabis flower and cannabis products for licensed producers in the state. Our team is looking for a Sample Technician to work in a high-throughput laboratory environment.
Working as a Sample Technician, you have the unique opportunity to work directly and one-on-one with growers and processors in the state of Michigan. To many of them, you will be the only person they see from NCTLM, so the ideal candidate must have extraordinary customer service skills and the ability to get along with anybody, regardless of their own personal thoughts or feelings on a given day. Much of your day will consist of being on the road driving to the various facilities, so the ability to turn it on after a drive is also a must. Lastly, and equally important, the ideal candidate must possess a keen eye to detail and desire always do your best work. We work in a highly regulated market with minimal room for error, so double checking paperwork is a must, as well as following all NCTLM SOPs as written.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Follow all internal laboratory SOPs and Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) regulations
- Work in a fast-paced production laboratory with high sample volume
- Work with inventory tracking software (METRC)
- Work cooperatively in a team environment
- Daily routine includes sample collection and transportation, and laboratory support duties
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency with electronic applications including MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Passion for science and/or the cannabis industry
- Experience working with METRC is preferred, but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to drive for long stretches at a time (3 hours)
- Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate computer and sampling equipment
- Immaculate Customer service skills
- Flexibility in scheduling from day to day
- Ability to lift/move weights up to 50 lbs
