Duties
- Assist oral surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures, including extractions, implants, and IV sedation, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infection
- Take dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Monitor vital signs and patient comfort levels throughout procedures, providing support to ensure a positive experience
- Maintain strict infection control protocols by adhering to OSHA standards and sterilization procedures
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with dental receptionists and updating medical records as needed
Requirements
- (Preferred) experience in dental assisting, with familiarity in chairside assisting and dental terminology
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry, oral surgery, and healthcare
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with providers, patients, and other clinical and administrative team members
- Certification in dental assisting preferred; knowledge of HIPAA compliance is essential
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
