Position Overview:
As a Clinical Support/Triage Registered Nurse (RN), you will work in an ambulatory clinic setting using a systematic approach to nursing practice that includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Voyage Healthcare policies.
The RN collaborates closely with providers and care teams to coordinate patient care, delegate responsibilities when appropriate, and promote patient safety. This role is primarily for nurse visits, administering immunizations/injections, assisting with procedures, patient education, and triaging symptom-based walk-in patients.
In addition, you will assess patient needs over the phone, provide appropriate medical guidance, and determine the level of care needed based on symptoms and established protocols. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support.
In this role, you will be instrumental in helping patients access care efficiently while ensuring their medical needs are addressed safely and effectively.
Hourly Range: $34.00 - $41.00, based on years of relevant experience
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a respectful and professional work environment
- Deliver quality nursing care in a patient-focused manner
- Manage incoming patient calls using established protocols and gathering relevant clinical information
- Provide ambulatory nursing care across various specialties
- Implement care according to policies, procedures, and protocols, and best-practice standards
- Assist with or perform medical procedures and treatments
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies; perform CPR as needed
- Provide culturally competent health education and counseling.
- Accurately document care, communication, and outcomes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Promote a safe, equitable, and respectful environment
- Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and workplace safety policies
- Perform duties such as:
- Medication and immunization visits
- Stand-alone RN visits
- Telephonic and in-person triage
- Care coordination/case management
- Prescription refills per protocol
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota required
- Current CPR certification required
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret medical records, physician orders, and medication instructions
- Strong organization skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
