Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare.
Sabin-Schellenberg Professional Technical Center has a full time position in the Engineering Technology program.
Responsibilities
The Engineering Technology Teacher is responsible for the ongoing development of course curriculum and assessment, fostering a supportive learning environment that emphasizes student learning and safety. They will teach the following Engineering courses:
The candidate must hold or be able to obtain a CTE teaching license specific to the area of study. The candidate may also already be an Oregon licensed teacher with industry experience or someone without a teaching license who has industry experience who is interested in pursuing a CTE teaching license. In order to qualify for a CTE teaching license, the applicant must show recent and relevant knowledge in the industry that they want to teach. The district works closely with a CTE Regional Coordinator who will support candidates by providing assistance and facilitation with CTE licensure and Program of Study needs or requirements.
PLEASE NOTE: If a Restricted CTE Teaching license is needed, the Oregon Department of Education will also require a CTE Professional Development Plan. The Associate Director of Human Resources and the CTE Regional Coordinator will provide the steps if this is required.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Professional Salary Placement qualifies a candidate for placement at the Bachelors level of the salary schedule.
PLEASE NOTE: North Clackamas Schools is negotiating the licensed contract for the 26-27 school year. Below is our Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year:
North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

- This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date.
- Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment.
- As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive:
- A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards).
- A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD.

- Must have or meet the requirements for Oregon CTE Teaching License with an Engineering Technology Endorsement
- Degree in Engineering Technology, a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the Engineering/Robotics industry.
- Experience with building and programming systems like VEX and Arduino, understanding of circuit simulation (Multisim) and breadboarding, experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 and SolidWorks, and familiarity with commonly used programming languages in engineering, such as C and Python.
- Evidence of continuous professional learning and a commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and self-reflection on professional practice.
- Demonstrated content knowledge for subjects/levels being taught.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with families, students, and staff.
- Commitment to effective collaboration and teaming within a professional learning community.
- Skill in classroom management and ability to achieve, support, and maintain acceptable student behavior.
- Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate and multiple assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development and ability to apply that knowledge to the selection and application of curriculum materials and instructional practices.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of strategies necessary to meet the diverse needs of students.
