Position Summary
The Principal serves as the school and educational leader responsible for development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of a comprehensive program of educational and student services. The responsibilities of the Principal include:
- Administering the program in accordance with board policies, statutory requirements, administrative rules and regulations, district leadership direction, and consistent with collective bargaining agreements.
- Serving as an advocate for the staff, school, and school community as appropriate.
- Candidate must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, and/or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
- For dual language instruction schools, demonstrate proficient oral and written bilingual Spanish skills.
- Possess or ability to obtain an Oregon Principal, Professional Administrator, or Reciprocal Administrator license.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to create a safe, orderly, positive school climate for students and staff.
- Ability to foster growth, creativity, and flexibility using a variety of techniques.
- Ability to facilitate resolution of complex interpersonal issues.
- Demonstrate successful experience in shared decision making, program development, staff supervision and evaluation.
- Knowledge and skill in fiscal management, staff development, and human relations.
- Ability to work with Oregon State's Educational programs and assessments.
- Knowledge and demonstrative skills in the use of technology for teaching and learning.
- Managerial skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and listening.
- Ability to gain and demonstrate knowledge of district and State laws that govern budget procedures and expenditures.
- Knowledge about laws, rules and regulations governing the operation of public schools, including school reform legislation.
- Knowledge of innovations in education; alternative instructional strategies, alternative assessment methods; blended instructional support; in-class support for students with disabilities, instruction based on student performance and decision making, peer tutoring, cooperative learning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to serve as a first responder and react in emergency situations to include intervening and, as necessary consistent with district policy, restraining students. Valid state driver's license.
- Bilingual language skills in languages appropriate to the district's demographics. (Note: For dual language instruction schools, proficient oral and written bilingual Spanish skills is a minimal qualification as listed above).
- Experience in the delivery and/or leadership of special education programs and services.
Terms Of Employment
PLEASE NOTE: North Clackamas Schools will be reviewing the NCAA Administrator Agreement for the 26-27 school year. Below is the Administrator Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year:
- Annual Compensation Range (2025-2026): $142,506 - $165,067.
- Employees shall assume and pay the six percent (6%) employee contribution/payment required by ORS 238A to PERS.
- Excellent benefits including medical, dental, eye insurance coverage, cell phone and mileage stipends, life insurance and paid leave. If North Clackamas Medical Plan V chosen, an employer contribution of $1,500 - $3,000 will be invested in employee's HRA VEBA, funded every January 1.
- Position is a 230-day work year that will include some evening and weekend work expectations.
- An annual stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD, EdD or JD.
- Professional development funds available.
