Role Description
The Director of Development is a full-time hybrid role based in North Charleston, SC, with the opportunity for partial remote work. This role involves creating and managing fundraising strategies, building donor relationships, and overseeing both annual and planned giving campaigns. Responsibilities include identifying potential donors, implementing effective philanthropy programs, creating budgets, and working closely with leadership to ensure financial sustainability and alignment with organizational goals. Regular communication with stakeholders and representation of the organization to the community are key aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Experience with Planned Giving and Annual Giving initiatives to cultivate long-term donor relationships
- Proficiency in Fundraising and Philanthropy to effectively generate and manage resources for the organization
- Strong Budgeting skills to develop, monitor, and manage financial plans and project budgets
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Proactive approach to building partnerships and fostering community relationships
- Leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing development teams or projects
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or related field (preferred)
- Familiarity with donor database systems and fundraising tools is an advantage
