Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our growing outpatient neurology team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our attending neurologist to evaluate, diagnose, and manage both new and established patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment and medication plans.
- Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, including MRI, CT, EEG, and lab results.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term disease management.
- Accurately document all patient encounters in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification: Current board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Family (FNP), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Alabama RN and CRNP licenses (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an NP, with prior neurology, neurosurgery, or internal medicine experience highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or willing to obtain upon hire).
