- Coordinate daily schedule with other tutors
- Utilize the Microsoft Booking's page for scheduling and be able to adjust schedules by semester and during clinical.
- Carry out tutoring sessions virtually or in person
- Assist students in understanding complex physical therapy concepts and materials.
- Provide clarification on course content, including anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and therapeutic techniques.
- Teach effective study techniques and strategies specific to the DPT curriculum.
- Encourage the use of active learning methods, such as group discussions and practice scenarios.
- Guide students in organizing their study schedules and managing their time effectively.
- Share notes, study guides, and other materials that have been helpful in one's own studies that have been approved by faculty.
- Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting a positive and collaborative learning environment.
- Provide encouragement and motivation to peers struggling with coursework or confidence in their skills.
- Maintain open lines of communication with students to understand their specific needs and challenges.
- Foster a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help.
- Work closely with faculty members to align tutoring sessions with course objectives and requirements.
- Provide feedback to faculty regarding common areas of difficulty among students.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students' academic performance and personal challenges by abiding by FERPA regulations.
- Must be a student enrolled in the DPT Program at North Central College
- Must demonstrate understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, mental or physical disability, and religious background of all students, faculty and staff, and with all individuals encountered in the performance of required duties
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality for all interactions with peers
