The primary purpose of this position is to work as part of a team of environmental services staff responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all of the buildings that are at the O'Berry NMT Center Campus: administrative, medical and residential buildings. The position is responsible for cleaning all common areas; bathrooms, hallways, day rooms, break rooms, offices, work areas, as well as cleaning residential areas such as individual bedrooms, bathrooms and equipment. Position must clean the assigned areas according to established rules and regulations ensuring that safety and sanitation regulations are met. The position is required to follow a checklist and meet standards of sanitation as set by Management, ICF/IID and/or NF regulations and other regulatory agencies. The position will also empty trash receptacles and other related duties as requested by the supervisor or management. Duties may include physical activities such as moving furniture. Cleaning duties will include sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and sanitizing of bathrooms, ensuring they are maintained in sanitary condition, and that paper supplies and soap are replenished as needed. Will be responsible for cleaning isolation and vacated units, trolley’s, carts and stretcher wheels. Responsible for transferring linens to and from assigned areas and linen room.

The O'Berry Neuro Medical Treatment Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina provides services through two distinct healthcare programs: Skilled nursing facility services (OBRA) and Developmental Disabilities (ICF-IID). One Hundred Forty-Four beds are allocated to skilled nursing care for our medically-fragile individuals and the remaining beds at the facility are allocated to ICF level of care for our developmentally-disabled individuals who receive active treatment. In addition, O'Berry serves as the Eastern Regional Developmental Disability Respite Center.

Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and use of cleaning agents- Proficient in the operation of various cleaning equipment
- Capability to read and write and be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Capability to perform medium to heavy physical work
- Capability to understand and follow directions while maintaining effective work relationships with the team
- Must maintain a current valid driver’s license
Education and/or experience in housekeeping work that is directly related to the job.
