About Hazard Mitigation
The primary mission of the Hazard Mitigation Section of NCEM is to manage and implement Federal and state mitigation programs, as guided and authorized under NC General Statute 166A, the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, and other relevant pieces of legislation.
About The Positon
The position will work as part of the Hazard Mitigation management team to provide strategic planning and oversite of appropriated FEMA grant funds for the state of North Carolina. NCEM manages multiple complex federal and state recovery grant programs. This position provides expert-level policy oversight, development, and management to the Hazard Mitigation leadership for all financial information in the Hazard Mitigation Section.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing $2.5 billion in awarded funding and the distribution to North Carolina counties, other state agencies and federal partners. If selected, the candidate will provide financial oversight for multiple accounts which support core functions across NCEM Hazard Mitigation Program.
This positions develops standards, policies and procedures to ensure financial compliance with Federal and State regulations and statues; sound regulatory practices and procedures; and generally accepted accounting principles and standards. This position provides technical oversight to local governments in resolving financial issues and compliance. The selected candidate will prepare and present various financial reports to a variety of agencies as needed.

Salary Range: $47,703.00 - $83,479.00
